Arsenal have had a 2nd bid of £25M rejected for Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz. The player is still pushing for the move, but Villa are not open to selling him. The Gunners are still pushing for the move and a third bid is a possibility.

Newcastle Goalkeeper Martin Dubravka has joined Manchester United on a season long loan deal. The deal has been set to be completed for a while, but the deal is finally over the line. He will go back up north at the end of the season when Dean Henderson returns from his Nottingham Forest loan. Dubravka will be second choice at Old Trafford.

Idrissa Gana Gueye has rejoined Everton from Paris Saint Germain. The midfielder left Goodison Park 3 years ago and joins back for an undisclosed fee. He signs until 2024.

Denis Zakaria could make a late Deadline Day switch to Chelsea. The Blues are in talks with Juventus over a loan deal with the view to buy. The Swiss midfielder joined last season from Borussia Monchengladbach. The player is understood to want the move. It’s now up to Juventus on whether they would permit his exit. This is one to keep an eye on.

According to The Athletics’ David Ornstein, Denis Zakaria is undergoing a medical in Turin ahead of a loan to Chelsea with the option to buy. Personal terms agreed already, this one should be done in the next few hours if all goes to plan.

Nottingham Forest are set to sign Michy Batshuayi from Chelsea and make their 20th signing of the window, according to Fabrizio Romano. The fee is unknown at this moment, but Forest are well and truly set for the Premier League, being able to field 2 Starting 11s with their new additions, a competition record.

It’s been a hectic deadline day at PSG, and it isn’t over yet. The French side have just completed the signing of Valencia midfielder Carlos Soler for a fee of around £20M. The Spaniard signs until 2027. PSG have also let Idrissa Gana Gueye and Julian Draxler depart today.

For the home team, Youri Tielemans and James Maddison who have heavily been linked with moves away from the King Power this summer both start. Nottingham Forest have agreed on deal to sign Serge Aurier as free agent, it depends on visa and then work permit as to whether the deal gets completed. They will also have to file in the required paperwork to the Premier League before 11PM. A race against the clock for Nottingham Forest’s potentially 21st signing after Michy Batshuayi deal.

1 hour to go, and Douglas Luiz is on his way to London! Despite an agreement not being reached between Arsenal and Villa, Luiz is pushing for the move and wants to give himself the best chance to complete the transfer. The bid we reported on an hour ago hasn’t been accepted nor rejected. Decisive minutes coming up in this deal. Also, despite rumours, Memphis Depay won’t join Chelsea, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will. Marcos Alonso moves the other way in a separate deal whilst Hector Bellerin also joins the Spanish side. That is window over for Barcelona.

Bid rejected and possibly game over in Arsenal’s pursuit of Douglas Luiz. A new Aston Villa contract could now be on the cards. Steven Gerrard will let the player go in January, Arsenal were the only club interested as Liverpool decided to sign Arthur Melo instead.
